HAVE YOUR SAY! The WHMIS Regulation is changing. Your input can help keep workers safe.

The Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration Safety Branch is seeking feedback from Nova Scotia’s workers. 

The government is updating the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Regulations.  The changes are intended to align the regulations with Canada’s overall WHMIS framework.

Changes are going to include adopting the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).

The OH&S Branch is looking for feedback from organizations, employers and employees about the proposed changes.  THis is a terrific opportunity to provide a workers perspective on the proposed changes.

The website includes a document called “Proposed Summary of Changes” where you can learn more about the proposed changes. You can provide your feedback by taking an online survey.
